Special Ceremony Elements
Including some special elements in your ceremony further helps to make your ceremony unique and special to you. It also gives you the opportunity to involve your friends and family in the most important part of your wedding day.
Order of Ceremony
This keepsake document can be presented to all of your guests and will provide a lasting memory for you and all who shared the day with you. I will create it with you and the design and content will be individual to your ceremony.
Pricing varies according to the level of design and the number of copies required.
First Kiss Last Kiss
This ceremony option involves the mothers of the Bride and the Groom. They are called upon to join the Bride and Groom towards the end of the ceremony. The mothers gave their children there first kiss when they came into the world and they will give their last kiss as single individuals before sending them on their new journey as husband / wife / life partner.
Rose Ceremony
from £35
In the Rose Ceremony, the couple can choose to present roses to their mothers as a way of showing appreciation for the love, care and support that they have received from them. It is a very touching and moving gesture.
Parchment Signing & Witness Ceremony
from £75
This ceremony involves the couple and their chosen witnesses. Each in turn sign the beautiful keepsake parchment which is then presented to the couple, as part of their ceremony.
I will commission a beautiful parchment, reflecting the style and colours of your wedding. A great opportunity to invite all your guests to gather around to witness the signings.
Unity Sand Ceremony
from £75
The ceremony symbolises the joining of the couple and is ideal for any wedding. This ceremony is especially relevant when families with step-children are coming together or where the couple are looking for a way to involve their children in the ceremony itself.
A glass bottle is filled with different layers of coloured sand, each colour represents a person, creating one family from many individuals.
I can source a wide array of different coloured sand and beautiful bottles and containers to make a wonderful unique keepsake.
Unity Candle
from £75
This ritual has long been used in Catholic weddings, but as a traditional ceremony option it also holds a universal meaning. It symbolises the joining of the couple in marriage as well as the joining of their two original families.
The couple’s mothers can light their individual candles for them as a symbol to show that they are moving on from their family to create a new family together.
Ring Warming
from £35
When the guests are seated and eagerly awaiting the arrival of the bride, the wedding rings, tied to a little pillow, will be passed around them. They will hold them for a few moments and send beautiful thoughts, prayers and good wishes into the rings, until they are returned ‘warmed’ by all the loving attention. This is a beautiful way to include everyone and creates a happy and moving start to a wedding ceremony.
I will commission the making of a beautiful little pillow that suits the colour and style of your wedding.
Wine Ceremony – Quaich or Loving Cup Ceremony
from £65
In this Ceremony, the couple can pour red and white wine into a two- handled loving cup to create a blush, the first drink that they will share together. The cup can be passed around enabling all the guests to drink to the couple’s future lives together. Mead and cider or Whisky and water can also be used.
Breaking of the Glass Ceremony
from £75
The Breaking of the Glass Ceremony is traditionally used at Jewish weddings but has become more popular with all couples. Two champagne flutes are safely placed within a cloth bag prior to being stamped on and smashed. This dramatically signals the end of the formal ceremony and the start of the celebrations.
I will commission a beautiful cloth bag, reflecting the style and colours of your wedding and supply the champagne flutes.
Wine Box Ceremony
from £75
The couple will write love letters to each other before the ceremony, which they will seal in an envelope. They will choose their favourite bottle of wine or drink of choice and place these and any other memorabilia in the wine box. During the ceremony, the couple will seal the box and vow not to open the box until an anniversary of their choice. The only other time that the box can be unsealed is when they are having thoughts of separating, at which time they will drink the wine and read the letters. This will hopefully remind them why they fell in love and chose to be together in the first place.
I can source a wide range of wine boxes, from basic range to handmade, engraved, solid Lake District hardwood boxes.
Hand Fasting Ceremony
from £85
A hand fasting is an old Pagan custom that dates back to the time of the ancient Celts. In this beautiful ceremony, the hands are tied together with ribbons, lace or braid, in the shape of the infinity symbol, thus symbolising the bringing together of the two hearts in a marriage of strength and unity forever.
This ritual enables family members and close friends to share in the ceremony by wrapping the ribbons or giving their good wishes to the couple as they ‘tie the knot.’
I will supply ribbons, lace and braid, a keepsake bag for the tied ribbons with a small signed and dated parchment inside, and give suggestions for readings and wishes.
Jumping The Broom Ceremony
from £85
The Broom Jumping Ceremony is based upon a tradition that symbolises the clearing away of negativity with a sweep of the broom and creating a threshold for the couple to cross over into their new life together.
I supply a hand-made besom broom which can be decorated in the colours and the flowers of the ceremony.
